Granville Choo Choo...Curt Tillotson's Train Collection
An architect and an exhibit designer have been approved by the Board of Directors for the permanent exhibit of Mr. Tillotson's Train Collection. The current storage rooms at the rear of Harris Hall will become a train exhibit room, research room, workshop, and storage facility according to the drawings now underway.
This will be an excellent attraction for children and adults. The "research" or "library" will house the thousands of photographs taken by Tillotson as well as his collection of reference materials. Visitors that are interested in researching and learning more about trains will find this an outstanding reference room. Click on the pictures below to see a more detailed view.
The "double doors" (on the parking lot side) will at last provide adequate space for incoming and outgoing exhibits. This has been a problem with our traveling exhibits due to the current door sizes.
Mr. Peter Ruocchio, of Ruocchio Designs, will present architectural drawings at the annual meeting on November 1st. The "Train Fundraiser" officially begins in November of 2008.
