Harris Hall...
The Granville County Historical Society obtained the former 1946 "freezer locker plant" which is adjacent to the "old jail (now Granville History Museum) in 1998. After two years of renovation, this location was opened in May, 2000 and named for the donor of the building. This larger facility now houses exhibit rooms, offices, conference room, workshop, archival room, kitchen and restrooms. The museum is a member of the North Carolina Grassroots Science Collaborative and frequent science hands-on exhibits can be enjoyed. Other exhibit topics include history, art, and culture.
Our gift shop offers shoppers (young and old!) a variety of items including Granville County books, flag, ornaments, hats and shirts. Also we have a great assortment of children's toys and games starting at the mere price of 15 cents. The Heritage and Homesteads: History and Architecture of Granville County is available for $60.00. We take MC, Visa, AMEX and Discover.
The Gift Shop will be available this summer from Wednesday through Sunday each week.
