The Newest Exhibit, Brain Teasers II, opens on March 3, 2010!
This exhibit, produced and toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, offers 20 challenges for puzzle enthusiasts of all ages. The exhibit is designed to sharpen problem-solving skills and provide plenty of fun. Brain twisters include unraveling mathematical conundrums, separating linked objects and then reassembling them, arranging geometric shapes to form new ones, and much more. To solve theses puzzles, visitors must use creative thinking and problem solving strategies such as looking for patterns, thinking ahead, setting aside preconceived ideas, and looking at problems from different perspectives. This brightly colored exhibit appeals to visitors of all ages and encourages parent-child interaction as families team up to solve the brain teasers. Visitors have been known to come back and try again if they don't solve all the puzzles on their first visit!

The Granville County Historical Society obtained the former 1946 "freezer locker plant" which is adjacent to the "old jail (now Granville History Museum) in 1998. After two years of renovation, this location was opened in May, 2000 and named for the donor of the building. This larger facility now houses exhibit rooms, offices, conference room, workshop, archival room, kitchen and restrooms. The museum is a member of the North Carolina Grassroots Science Collaborative and frequent science hands-on exhibits can be enjoyed. Other exhibit topics include history, art, and culture.
